Weekend Reading

Here’s some inspiring weekend reading to relax with on this gorgeous June Saturday:

I was delighted to read Jim McGaw’s enjoyable and informative piece about the Anthony Quinn Foundation in the East Bay Newspapers.  Mr. Quinn lived an amazing life by any standard, and his belief in the importance of the arts and arts education in every child’s life is something we have in common.  I hope to hear more about Mrs. Quinn’s endeavors to preserve and celebrate her husband’s legacy for future generations of risk-taking, fearless, artful children everywhere!

Three cheers for Carol Glanville, who has been named Rhode Island History Teacher of the Year by the Gilder Lehman Institute of American History.  Mrs. Glanville is a first-grade teacher at Colt Andrews School in Bristol, a champion of arts-integration in education, and founder of The History Kids.  You can read more about Mrs. Glanville and her recent accolade in this inspiring piece by Christy Nadalin in Bristol-WarrenPatch.
